Welcome to the Great Plains Industrial Park
The Great Plains Industrial Park is a 13,727 acre area located in Labette County, Southeast Kansas and is the site of the former Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. Centrally located between Tulsa, OK, Kansas City, MO, Wichita, KS, and Springfield, MO, it is serviced by major east-west and north-south highways and by the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Railways. The Port of Catoosa is located 90 miles south and there are two major airports within two hours' drive.
The park has parcels as large as 3,000 acres, and there are a large number of operations and storage buildings available. There is a 67,000 square foot office building outside the security perimeter which allows easy access for customers and visitors. The facility has its own water and sewage treatment systems, more than 100 miles of roadway and 33 miles of improved rail capable of supporting unit trains.
A dedicated workforce is available in the community and specialized training is available through the Advanced Technology Center of Pittsburg State University which offers degrees in automotive, wood and plastics technologies or through Labette Community College.
Labette County has been designated as an economic HUB ZONE, and as such firms registered and headquartered or having 51 percent of their employees working in the county will receive a 10 percent advantage when competing for US Government Contracts.
