Great Plains Work
(Parsons Sun, September 18, 2014) Employees of Diamond Engineering, Wichita, install one of two remote terminal sites at Great Plains Industrial Park this week. AT&T is bringing underground fiber optic and new copper telephone lines into the park to assist with its future development. Diamond Engineering connected the line at 22000 and Trego roads and has now laid nearly seven miles of line to reach the Progress Rail Services site toward the south end of the property.

Progress Rail Services

Progress Rail Services employees work to modify the remaining flat-bed after removing the double-decker upper portion of a vehicle rail car. The company recently opened a new scrapping division at Great Plains Industrial Park. Progress Rail secured a contract from Union Pacific to scrap double-decker vehicle rail cars, an operation it added to its rail car maintenance and storage operations at the site. The company got its start in the scrapping and recycling business, which remains a core function of the company.
