Education

Public Schools
There is a great public education system throughout the county where students repeatedly win national honors in academics, forensics and music. The Parsons High School has been particularly aggressive about pulling technology into the classroom, including CAD, robotics and advanced welding.

Higher Education

Labette Community College is a real asset to the area, with the most popular majors of Nursing, Business/Industrial Supervision, and Radiography.  More than $4 million in work-place training has been provided to major employers, and surveys show that employers are very satisfied with the knowledge and ability levels of LCC students who have completed curricula in technical programs.

While LCC’s student body is generally one of commuters the college also offers outstanding sports programs, with wrestling and women’s basketball repeatedly competing on a national level.
