Transportation
Rail service is provided on site by Lindsey and Osborne LLC with the capability to move unit trains in support of major tenants. There are 33 miles of rail lines on site of which most are 100 pound rails with some sidings of 80-90 pound rails. A large transportation node is planned allowing transshipment from rail to the many trucking companies located in the immediate area. Primary rail is provided to the transfer yard by the Union Pacific (UP) which has a main line passing through Parsons, KS, adjacent to the plant. This high volume line carries more than 20 million tons annually of which the majority is southbound coal. The Burlington Northern/Santa Fe (BNSF) and the South Kansas & Oklahoma (SKO) also supply rail service in the region.
Trucking is available locally with the Old Dominion Freight Line Terminal located in Parsons, KS, less than 3 miles from the industrial park entrance. With Joplin MO, home of numerous interstate trucking companies (Tri State, R&R, and others) less than 60 miles away, and several more located in northwest Arkansas, backhaul trucking is readily available. With Highways 59 and 400 adjacent to the facility and Interstate Highways and major National routes within minutes of the plant over the road traffic is ideal from this centrally located operation.
International Air Service is provided at Tulsa, OK, Kansas City and Wichita KS, within a two to two and a half hour drive. Local air service is provided at Tri Cities Airport capable of supporting corporate, charter and small cargo jets just 10 miles west of the facility, in Labette County. An extensive refurbishment of the runway and facilities was completed in 2007. Aircraft manufacturing is centered in Wichita KS, supporting all major aircraft manufactures and includes a number of business and light aircraft manufacturers. Cessna has a plant in Independence KS less than 30 miles away, and Parsons KS is the home to aircraft component suppliers.
Shipping is located 90 miles south at the Port of Catoosa near Tulsa, OK. Large quantities of the Agricultural products grown in this area are shipped through the port.
